Michelle, this is a really nice drawing. I love how complex the colors are, and the cluster of activity in the middle has a lot of movement and depth to it. I would guess that the sound is some kind of low rumble -- or even a deep male voice. The watery field suggests water falling, but the palette to me feels too heavy to be water. Unless...it's the sound of waves crashing on an ocean beach. Very moody and evocative piece!
To me this piece feels like an underwater ringing noise. I likt the way you seem to have messed with the ink once it was already on the page and the way the white line is semi-transparent.
