Bella, as you know, I'm so intrigued by what you've been doing with the alcohol inks, and this piece is a wonderful culmination of your efforts. The black cloud-like form is so rich and dense, and all that visual nuance seems a very apt way of evoking the complexity of the Gatsby character. And the overall shape, along with the separate orange ball, do a lot to suggest the narrative's progression toward the tragic event. I do wonder about the orientation, though. As it is now, it reads to me as if all the activity is rising up out of and away from the orange ball. It's tough, because I do think this makes the most sense visually, but as an evocation of a narrative it might work better rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise. In either case, I do wish that ball were perfectly centered at the bottom. You could easily fix this by extending it a bit to the left. One final thought: perhaps you could incorporate tiny bits of orange into the cloud shape as subtle foreshadowings of what's to come. That might also make that area even more beautiful!
