Sidney, what a striking and distressing image. While I can see that there's lots of complex color here (you clearly blended your yellow and purple to great effect), I'm not sure what the dominant color is. In general, the complement of a dominant color in a monochrome is used only for "inflections" -- not so much to cover large swaths of the image. If your dominant hue is purple, I'd like to see a bit more hints of pure purple inside all that blended color within the figure. That said, I do like the way you drew the figure very much; there's just the right amount of detail, and the rough mark-making enhances the distressed mood of the piece. I find myself wishing that the floorboards were drawn with the same amount of care. It seems to me that area would benefit from more of the complex grays you have going on in the figure. Overall, very captivating image.
