Celia, while I like what you did here with the face and hair, I think a slightly more reduced palette would have been better. Or...perhaps it's that the size of the squares is too big for me to get a real sense of optical blending. The blue background could definitely use more colors. Right now they look a bit like uniform tiles -- which is to say flat. I'm not sure if you can fix this -- it's just that I want to see the figure and background more integrated. Great job on the features of the face, though.
I love all the different colors you have here!It does feel like the skin is comprised of colors that would make a flesh tone from far away. I think it would benefit from some smaller shapes within those that you have now. So a yellow area would be yellow and blue to make a transition from a shadow into a light.
