The dark parts of your work seem to have formed almost faces and the one in the middle looks a bit like a torso. I do wish the dark pieces were spread out a bit more among the lighter pieces, but the hidden forms are really interesting too. Maybe if you used a some of the smaller light/mid-tone pieces in the forms it would make it just a tad more interesting. -Pan
Bella, I really like how this piece forms a coherent whole (i.e., there's nothing arbitrary about the composition). And there's something satisfying about the black lines around the shapes -- this seems to work here. That said, I find myself wishing that some of those tile-like shapes (the lighter shapes with the black edges) were occasionally fractured, so that the black lines sometimes didn't continue all the way around. Also -- and perhaps most important -- I think the whole thing would be stronger if you spread the central black shapes over more of the composition. Right now the way they hover in the center suggests a more conventional kind of space. It may not take much -- just a bit of redistribution.
I like that your piece is so geometric. I think if you added more darker parts, it can help the piece feel even more cohesive. Its also hard to distinguish what your original objects were. -Kaayla
I think the composition of the white cuts is what made this piece interesting. I can't tell what the objects are, but I think rearrange the black shapes in a balanced way could help.
